Aborted: e-evaluation for vocational stream
BHUBANESWAR: The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) has aborted its e-evaluation plan for the vocational stream. The CHSE, which had postponed checking of answersheets for the online process, on Thursday decided to go ahead with offline evaluation like previous years.CHSE chairman Basudeb Chhatoi said the evaluation will begin on April 26. "We can't wait for the e-evaluation process as scanning papers and putting those online will take time. It will delay results," Chhatoi told TOI.
Official sources said the government had asked the council to introduce e-evaluation on a pilot basis for the vocational course before extending it to other streams. Accordingly, the CHSE had decided to defer evaluation of vocational papers.
Chhatoi said the council is striving hard to publish results of Plus II science by the end of May.
"The students would need the marks by the time the results of JEE (Advanced), the entrance for IIT admission, are published as it considers top 20% of Plus II passouts in its ranks," he said. Evaluation of science, arts and commerce papers is on.
