Arise and awake... By  Ragini Nayak , National media panellist, Indian National Congress   Over a million student voters from every nook and corner of the country, a fantastic blend of national-local, educational-political, and academic-administrative issues...that is Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) elections for you — the starting point of my student activism and political career.  Coming from a family of freedom fighters, forthrightness, determination, high morals and principles have been instilled in me from childhood. Being an optimist, perfectionist and idealist from a young age, I had a strong sense of social obligations and commitment towards society, especially the womenfolk. I am a firm believer in the doctrine 'be the change you wish to see,' propounded by Mahatma Gandhi. I believe every individual has the capacity to bring about a positive change, however small, in the social, political and economic scenario of our country. During several years of ...
Data mind By  Prerna Mukharya , Founder Outline India   About two weeks into my research start-up, I was a one-woman army. At the time, I walked into the office of a business magazine. I had decided to work with them part-time to support my new venture.  The editor asked me, "Do you think you can change the world?" "Yes, I think I can," I said with a wide grin. Does childish affirmation trump mature disbelief? Yes, it does.  India is a country for one and the many, the rich and the poor, the subservient and the loud. I believe that everybody must have the opportunity to choose. I realised that to empower people to be able to make choices, we must ensure that not only are their voices heard but their suggestions, grievances and opinions, too, are incorporated in policies.  Therefore, I set up my startup, Outline India, with the goal of working towards providing quality, authentic data that would feed into research and eventually policy decisions and programme...
